Join your nurse leader colleagues for a special networking reception to be followed by the national screening of the nurse documentary, "Defining Hope".  There will be a Q&A Panel following the screening.

About the Documentary

Filmmaker Carolyn Jones spent four years interviewing and photographing nurses for the groundbreaking American Nurse book and film, and another year of research and interviews focused on what Dying in America looks like, all of which has led her to making this new film, the culmination of a journey, called Defining Hope.  The film weaves the stories of patients with life-threatening illness, and the nurses who guide them as they make choices about how they want to live, how much medical technology they can accept, what they hope for and how that hope evolves. It is about optimism and helps us define what 'quality of life' really means.

Guest Presenters

After the screening there will be a Q&A Session hosted by a Panel of the following healthcare professionals:

  • Melissa Bush, A/GNP-BC

  • Barb Schmal, RN, MSHS, CHPN, CLNC
